Great questions. I have some answers for you. How Many Social Media Accounts Do You Need? The truth is that you shouldn’t be overwhelmed by the number of Social Media platforms there are.

Some platforms you don’t need to be in everyday. Some platforms you can schedule post and automate so you have more time to respond to people…more on that later.

Some Social Media platforms may not even make sense for you to be on at all. Use the platforms where your audience participates and play to your strengths.

What Social Media Platforms Matter The Most?
The Social Media Platforms where you can build the strongest relationship with your audience, get the most leverage and create the best experience. Not necessarily in that order.

How Can I Use Social Media for Business?
So many ways… Social Media can allow you to build a deeper relationship both with your audience and with valuable networking partners. If that doesn’t sound practical enough, cool, you have direct selling opportunities in live streaming platforms, and passive selling opportunities via content.

Social Media matters for small business because relationships and exposure and listening all matter. People matter. When say that your company doesn’t prioritize social media you are saying your company doesn’t value engaging with human beings outside of a transaction.

You need to know which social media traffic is the most targeted and profitable when they visit your website.

In this short video you will see how you can start to make that decision based on factual evidence of the users actions.

Does the traffic from Facebook convert better than that of Twitter for example?

This is a brief video to show you the power of understandings whether the social media traffic that you’re working so hard to generate actually has any positive impact on your website goals.

So what do I mean by that is basically down the left hand side you can see the Facebook and Twitter, Google+ and you can see a bounce rate. Here you can see how many sessions, how many users came into the site.

Clearly in this case Facebook is the lion’s share of the social media followers and visits.

You can see here the bounce rate is 66%, the average typical bounce rate is 40%, so
that’s not a good sign that means that they probably aren’t really the best people
to be sent into your website.

TripAdvisor in this case, I am obviously not showing the particular site in question, 32% makes a lot more sense you know.

Google+ only 1 visit so you can’t really make any adjustments on that but twitter at 17 visits and 94% bounce rate again that demonstrates that either your content is not relevant to your website or certainly Twitter is not your target market.

And of course you can and should relate this to the goals that you set up in Google Analytics.

You then know how social media has an impact on your newsletter sign-up or your free offer and which which would be preferable.

How many of the social media people that visit the site contribute towards the actual goals you got set up,?

Did they visit three pages?

They stayed there for three minutes on the site and you can see what is the conversion rate from Facebook, from TripAdvisor etc,etc.

You can see there’s no question in this case that Twitter is not a good target audience for this
client but while the bounce rate is high for Facebook,if you look at the right it still got a 75% conversion rate.

You have to take the different factors into account, certainly there are aspects that can be improved for Facebook but at the same time it’s contributing towards a goal conversion rate which could be when someone contacts you for example.

So this is very very powerful, very important and I hope that’s helpful to be aware how to track your social media traffic ROI.

7 More Social Media Marketing Platforms for Your Business

We have already discussed the 5 Major Social Media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all those big stuff out there. On these video and article, we will be talking about more Social Media Platforms that you can use to market your business. They may still be starting up but it will be very useful if you set one up one now for your eCommerce.

So here they are:

1. Snapchat

Snapchat is the hottest new thing in town. It is an application which allows you to upload images or videos and disappears after few seconds a person is viewing it. Snapchat, though, does not have an organic discovery since it doesn’t have hashtags, therefore, you cannot find people or businesses. The thing about Snapchat is you can produce daily stories that excites and engage audiences. You can use it as well to have access to live events or upload your own live event because it’s a real time social media platform. Promotions or social media giveaways will work as well as people will be constantly checking your account.

2. Vine

Vine is a 6-second video sharing service where you can share your looping videos through social networking sites (including Twitter and Facebook), and you can embed it on your website. It became popular because of its simplicity. Majority of the users are the young ones. Since it is short and funny, you can make something fun or even crazy to get a laugh from your followers and customers.

3. LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a business oriented social networking tool that professionals use. Majority of the users are men. This site though is more helpful to Business-to-business (B2B) commerce transactions. Businesses will have direct access to consumers that they can easily market with images, status updates and other formal posts.

4. Reddit
Reddit is a social media and discussion website. It is great for community, majority of the interactions are men. It is a great platform to talk to your customers, have a forum for discussion with them about your product or your business. Reddit is made up of a bunch of “sub-reddits” on just about every category and topic you can imagine which is very great for ecommerce.

5. Periscope

Periscope is a live video recording app. You can just grab your device and “go live” anytime and anywhere. The app allows you to be “on the go” and show it to whoever joins your broadcast. Probably if you have a new product to release, you can use it to showcase the product with an anticipated date. You can d behind the scenes and the like, all depends on your creativity in marketing your business.

6. Google+

Google+ has some major SEO benefits; it makes it easier for marketers to show up in search results. However, normal people don’t use it much. You have to set up your own strategy on how to use it to expand your business.

7. Tumblr

Tumblr is a blog like platform. It is known as the largest hosted blog platform on the web. Users post images, videos, gifs, and any other multimedia content to create a blog. Artsy younger people and women are the ones using it.

One last platform that I really like and that I actually use is Meetup.com. It is amazing because it is great for in-person, if you wanted to meet people up in person; this site is your spot. You can test ideas or get new customers the old school way.

There’s always something new coming out, new platforms coming out every now and then. So if you find something new that you think might be good for your business, set up right away or at least reserve your username, but it will be a god idea to start posting and just testing the waters out.
